Description
I was chatting with a fellow one day, discussing what projects we were up to. I told him about my project, and he asked me if I could make his wife something for her birthday.
Sure, like what? Flowers he says, she likes gladiolus. Great! I said having no idea what that is!
Turns out, lots of blooms with many petals. As I was getting towards the end of this particular project…I thought daisies are nice, as are roses. But why did she have to like gladiolus of all things?
215 or more pieces and all manner of layering made this one a complicated project. Glad to have the challenge, although it was grueling towards the end. This piece was constructed of: Walnut, Maple, Purple Heart, Lyptus, Canary Wood, Padauk, Blued Pine, Mahogany.
As with the majority of my current pieces, this is a one-of-a-kind work. All wall art is individually commissioned and made of exotic woods. No stains or dies are ever used, just the pure colors and textures of the wood.
